The History of Education Society UK annual conference: Putting Education in its Place

Putting Education in its Place: Space, Place and Materialities in the History of Education
Date: 4-6 December 2009
Venue: University of Sheffield

We welcome proposals for papers and presentations, ideally linked to the conference theme, that examine histories of knowledge spaces, places, landscapes and materials in relation to theories and practices of pedagogy and the relationships between people places and things in formal and informal educational settings. There will also be a postgraduate panel and papers are welcome that do not necessarily address the conference theme. The conference is organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge and the School of Architecture, University of Sheffield.
